1. In our reading today, we were taken back to Julie's past. As a young girl, she experienced several difficulties in her life. Her mother passed away, she was sent away to live with her aunt while her father went to war, and then she was given the news of her father's death. Describe a time when you had to deal with a difficulty in your life. How were you able to cope? Explain.
2. Near the end of our reading today, we were introduced to Amy, Julie's pen pal. Do you have a pen pal? How did you become pen pals? If you don't have a pen pal, what do you think it would be like to have one?

1. Ounce my dad got fired from his job and my family were poor but about 1 month later he found a job at a used car dealership.

1. A difficulty I have experienced was when my first school in William's Lake, Poplar Glade burned down. Lucky I stayed home that day!

1.A diffuculty in my life would be when my budgie died. I was able to cope with this because I had another one and the living one is mine.

1. Well, one day my friend said she might be moving away but I thought that she was kiding but a month latter she was moving for sure and the family was happy here so I don't know why she moved. She moved had a good-bye party I was sad but I just kept saying I have to do what I have to do so that got me trough it.
2. I think if I had a pen pal it would be fun to talk to someone from across the country or even across the world.

1. In Grade two my Grandma Kay Passed away and it was my best friends birthday (Kayla) and I was really sad because my grandmma was nice and extremely nice to everybody.
2. Yes I have a pen pal.She hasn't sent me a letter in about a year but she might be busy in Grade 6. She lives in Mexico.She was in grade 3 when I was in grade 2 and her teacher was my cousins(cousins husband)sister.Even though she hasn't wrote to me in a while she could be busy with school, flamenco dancing, two dogs,a sister and a new home.
1. When my pop died it was really hard but my family helped me get through it.

My dad got layed off once but we are fine now.
